Following internal promotion, we are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher to work with the Executive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to provide the leadership and management which enables Chulmleigh College to give every pupil, high quality education, and which promotes the highest possible standards of achievement. The successful candidate will have a clear vision to build on the achievements of the Trust and make a real impact on the education offered to our pupils in the future.

This is an exciting and key role within our Academy and ideally, we would like the successful candidate to start from 22 April 2025 to enable a full handover. However, we are committed to appointing the very best candidate and will consider a September start date to achieve the right candidate.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Executive Headteacher (Secondary), SLT and Directors to create the strategic vision for the College and promote the vision, values and ethos to pupils, staff, Directors, parents and the wider community.
  • Working with the Executive Headteacher, Directors and other key stakeholders to maintain a shared vision and future strategic plans which will inspire and motivate pupils, staff, parents and the wider community in the College

  • Leading the Curriculum
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Line managing the Curriculum Leads

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record as a senior leader in a secondary school,
  • Demonstrate whole school impact at curriculum and pastoral levels.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for self and others. 
  • Demonstrate empathy, resilience, and skills to continue to maintain our ethos, and communicate and share our purpose with energy, commitment, and passion.

The successful candidate will share the values of our Academy:

  • Ambition – to create an environment of challenge and determination to ensure all our pupils aspire to achieve the highest outcomes at, KS3 and KS4, regardless of a pupil’s background or Special Educational Needs.
