(with a particular interest in a PE Specialism)
CHULMLEIGH COLLEGE
Fixed Rate at MPS6
Required from September 2026
Would you like to join a high performing, ambitious secondary school well known for exemplary behaviour and conduct? Chulmleigh College is a school where teachers focus upon high quality teaching and high standards. The College has enjoyed some of the best results in the region over the last 10 years and is heavily oversubscribed. In the 2025 examinations, pupils achieving 4+ in Basics was 82%. Our A8 score was 54.09.
Due to the increase in pupil numbers, we are seeking to increase our pool of supply teachers to provide long and short-term cover. The working day would be from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm with a 1-hour unpaid break – a maximum of 6 hours cover per day will be paid at the hourly rate for Teachers’ Main Scale 6 – currently £35.85 per hour. We are particularly interested in those with a PE specialism to support our PE Department.
We are seeking to appoint ambitious, talented and inspiring professionals to teach a variety of subjects across all ability groups in KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will be able to motivate our ambitious and hardworking pupils and will be able to demonstrate a great amount of flexibility/adaptability and must be able to work on their own initiative.
As a secondary supply teacher, you will cover lessons in the absence of the timetabled teacher, ensure the class is on target with the pre-set work, manage behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy, and deliver feedback to teachers/pastoral staff where necessary.
You will need a PGCE / BEd qualification or equivalent as well as a passion for education.
We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity and access for all, irrespective of age, background, race, gender, religion, ability, disability, or sexuality. We welcome applications for employment from the whole community.
